Meet The Founder
The Beginning
Born in Miami, FL and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Kayleen Mesa is a multidisciplinary artist, space holder, and founder of Forbidden Rituals; a lingerie brand and platform dedicated to introducing the art of self-adornment and self-seduction as a ritualistic practice to embrace authentic self-expression, ignite sensuality, and cultivate a deep sense of self-love. An experience where the essence of intentional beauty, guided embodiment practices, music, and art converge into a provocative ritual, reigniting the connection with the parts we’ve been conditioned to shame, judge, and label as ‘bad’ or forbidden. Kayleen establishes a transformative experience of sensual liberation, body celebration, and empowerment in her work.
Learning
Kayleen has learnt from some of the most respected teachers in the fields of holistic sexual healing and somatics, including Layla Martin, Emily Nagoski, Bessel van der Kolk, and Dagmar Khan. Her studies include completed certifications as a Sex, Love, and Relationships Coach, Holistic Health Coach, Ecstatic Dance DJ, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design. Drawing deeply from her enriched education and cultural heritage, she employs the inherent wisdom of the body, the alchemical frequencies of music, and the therapeutic power of art and design as a conduit for human connection, transformation, and elevation of the feminine collective.

The Story Behind Forbidden Rituals
I was around 10 years old when I went into my mom’s closet and discovered her exquisite collection of lingerie and costumes packed in big white silky bags. Lace, shiny fabrics, animal print, leather, rhinestones, colorful wigs, sparkly 80s accessories... It felt as if I had just discovered the most exciting playground of romance and self-expression.
From that day on my favorite ritual became sneaking in her closet when no one was home to play dress up. Dancing to my favorite CDs and cassettes as I seduced myself in front of the mirror while playing with how different looks and combinations of fabrics felt in my body. I was transported into a flirtatious world of limitless possibility, curiosity, and creativity...
