About Forbidden Rituals

A PLAYGROUND FOR SENSUAL LIBERATION

Meet The Founder

The Beginning

Born in Miami, FL and raised in Medellín, Colombia, Kayleen Mesa is a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of Forbidden Rituals. Her brand and platform celebrate lingerie as a ritual of self-adornment, designed to honor our erotic expression and feminine nature.

Through intentional beauty, music, art, and guided embodiment practices, Forbidden Rituals creates transformative experiences of empowerment, body celebration, and sensual liberation, reconnecting with the parts of ourselves often labeled as shameful or “forbidden.”

Learning

Aside from her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and experience as an intimates and swimwear designer in New York City, Kayleen has explored diverse paths that led her to create Forbidden Rituals.

Trained with respected teachers in holistic sexual healing and somatics, she holds certifications as a Sex, Love, and Relationships Coach, Wellness Coach, and DJ. Drawing from this rich experience, Kayleen combines the wisdom of the body, the power of music, and the transformative energy of art and design to support the elevation of the feminine collective.

Forbidden Rituals

Since launching in October 2024, Forbidden Rituals has grown into a slow fashion intimates brand. Every piece is hand-crafted in very small batches by our passionate, heart-centered team in Medellín, Colombia, honoring sustainable practices and created with purpose and care.

Our debut collection, Mystic Lover, reflects our commitment to offering more than “cute lingerie.” It’s a ritualistic experience, an invitation to celebrate your body, explore your sensuality, and reconnect with yourself through pieces designed to inspire confidence, pleasure, and intimate connection.

We are deeply grateful to our community for embracing this vision and for joining us in creating a space where fashion transcends clothing to become a meaningful statement of empowerment, and self-expression.

The Story Behind Forbidden Rituals

I have a vivid early memory of going into my mom’s closet and discovering her exquisite collection of lingerie and costumes packed in big white silky bags. Lace, shiny fabrics, animal print, leather, rhinestones, colorful wigs, sparkly 80s accessories… It felt like I had just discovered the most exciting playground of romance and self-expression.

From that day on my favorite ritual became sneaking in her closet when no one was home to play dress up. Dancing to my favorite CDs and cassettes as I danced in front of the mirror while playing with different looks and combinations of fabrics...I was transported into a world of limitless possibility, curiosity, and creativity...

“A Celebration Of My Sensuality Free From The Social Conditioning That Often Hold Us Back From Feeling At Home Within Our Body”

This is what lit up the flame inside of me to create Forbidden Rituals, my wildest fantasy come true! Born out of the desire to create a space for authentic self expression and sensual liberation.

“A New Way To Make Love To Yourself.”

My biggest desire is for you to remember your power and become rooted in your unique flavor of sensuality, enhancing the connection to you body, radiance, and aliveness through our collections and experiences packed within this space.

Welcome to Forbidden Rituals.

Ethos & Sustainability

Water Recycling

We implement water recycling techniques in our manufacturing processes, ensuring that water used in production is treated and reused, minimizing waste and conserving this vital resource.

Intentional Packaging

At Forbidden Rituals, we believe that each garment is a treasure. That’s why our packaging is made from luxurious velvet fabric, designed to simulate the experience of unwrapping a precious jewel or crystal. This intentional choice reflects our commitment to treating each piece with the care and reverence it deserves, while avoiding wasteful boxes or plastic bags.

Local, Controlled Quantity Manufacturing

We engage in local, controlled quantity manufacturing to ensure minimal waste, producing only what is needed and supporting a sustainable production cycle.

Local Suppliers

Wherever possible, we source materials from local suppliers to minimize our environmental impact and support local economies.
